Fifty researchers from Greece and five other European countries are located at the tops of Helmos and at an altitude of 2,300 to measure the interaction of aerosols with clouds in the area, a study that contributes to the development of our knowledge of water cycle processes, climate change and gaseous pollution. A large international experiment codenamed Callistho has been running there since early October. This study will reveal new information about the water cycle, the climate change and gaseous pollution.
