During the PANACEA summer 2020 field campaign, simultaneous measurements of New Particle Formation (NPF) will be performed in ten (10) areas covering all over Greece. The experiment will be performed in the framework of PANACEA Joint Research Activity 2 (Work Package 9) on Aerosols – Clouds Interactions. It is the first time that extensive NPF measurements will take place in North Greece and a comparison between North and South Greece’s NPF events will be performed.
Time and space mapping of NPF will be performed in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Ioannina, Xanthi, Mytilene, Crete (Finokalia), Sifnos, Xelmos, Messinia (Navarino Environmental Observatory) through in-situ and remote sensing measurements at reference and mobile atmospheric monitoring stations of PANACEA.
The experiment focuses on Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer (SMPS) and Aethalometer measurements.
The campaign will take place from 1st of August to 30th of September 2020.
