During the summer 2019 PANACEA campaign (PANACEA 2019), simultaneous measurements of aerosol characterization and their health relevant properties will be performed in or near six big urban centers of Greece and the regional background station of Finokalia in Crete. The campaign is performed in the framework of PANACEA Joint Research Activity 1 (Work Package 8) on Atmospheric Pollution and Population Exposure. Specifically, the aim of the campaign is to chart particulate air pollution and the resulting human exposure to the atmospheric pollution in Greece.
Time and space mapping of atmospheric pollution will be performed in the urban centers of Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Ioannina, Xanthi and Volos in Greece through in-situ and remote sensing measurements at reference and mobile atmospheric monitoring stations of PANACEA.
The experiment focuses on PM2.5 and Oxidation Potential (ROS). Analysis of PM2.5 will be performed for the determination of chemical composition (ions, metals, OC/EC) and ROS.
The campaign will take place from 10th of July to 10th of August 2019.
